How does Pennywise work?

When you feel the urge to buy something, log it in the app. Pennywise starts a countdown (24, 48, or 72 hours — your choice). When the time is up, you get a notification asking if you still want it. Most of the time, you won't.

What is the "hours of work" feature?

If you enter your salary and work hours, Pennywise converts every price into hours of your labor. A $200 jacket becomes "8.5 hours of your life." It's a gut-check, not financial advice.

Is my data safe?

All data stays on your device. We have no servers, no cloud, no analytics. We literally cannot see your data. Read our privacy policy for details.

Is Pennywise really free?

Yes. No subscriptions, no in-app purchases, no ads, no premium tier. Free forever.

I'm not getting notifications.

Open your iPhone Settings → Pennywise → Notifications and make sure they're enabled. Pennywise uses local notifications — they're generated on your device, not pushed from a server.

Can I change the cooldown period?

Yes. Tap the settings icon (≡) on the home screen and choose 24, 48, or 72 hours.

How do I delete an item?

Tap on any item card to open its detail sheet, then tap "Delete from jar" at the bottom.

How do I delete all my data?

Delete the app. Since all data is stored locally, uninstalling removes everything permanently.

Which currencies are supported?

Currently USD ($), EUR (€), and SAR (﷼). You can change your currency in settings or during onboarding.
